New member, New ride

Hi All. I just bought a '78 Silverado Camper Special.
454 bored .30 over
Edlebrock intake
Holly 850 Double
Ceramic headers
Mild cam
TH400 trans with kit
4 Core radiator
Firestone Airbags on rear

The interior is a but rough and needs new door seals, otherwise I'll just be touching up the exterior and looking for advice on other things. I bought it from an old guy who drag races Pro Stock. He built the motor and trans himself.

Not planning on a ton of things right now. Mostly cosmetic. Carpet, headliner, seat, stereo. I also need to find seat belts as the stock are in really bad shape. I'd like to find a shorter rear end. I think it has 4:10 so it revs pretty good on the freeway. Luckily I'm only 15 mins from work, otherwise gas would be a killer at 12mpg!

I'm not sure. I'll have to take a look when I get home. The VIN number doesn't seem to match much of anything. I've done a couple VIN searches and it comes up as not valid. Says it's too short??

Looks like it's a 14. I drove it on the freeway today. Kept waiting for it to shift into 4th or OD!! I wonder how difficult a swap would be? It's got bags, shocks and leafs. Rides pretty stiff in the back (and pretty soft in the front.)
