flarestat 105's
Was kinda wondering how rare or hard to find are these. I mean like are they diff to get cause once you get one you don't let it go or what. Are they desirable? I don't know much about the 60-66 years but would like to find info on what are the hard to find parts and what is it everybody would like to have for their trucks. What exactly are the hard to find parts or the rare items that everyone would like to have.

Re: flarestat 105's
The 4 way flasher option is not super rare, but most trucks did not come with them. So, consider it a "hard to find" option. A used original is worth about 75-100 bucks. I believe they are now being reproduced for about 200 bucks. The original bowtie 105 knob is very hard to find in good shapehttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=5659704

Re: flarestat 105's
I found one of these on eBay a while back that I bought for the minimum bid of $35. The issue was that it had "IH" lettering on the knob instead of bowties. It is worn enough that I am going to use 400 grit sandpaper or steel wool to remove what's left of the letters and then...ahem...polish the knob. The wiring harness it came with probably won't fit but still it was a deal.
Sometimes you get lucky especially when the seller makes mistakes in the posting. I think this was called an emergency switch so typical searches would miss it. Not sure how I found it. ...ned.

Not too common, but not that rare either. Well, let's just say that on any given day you can probably find a few for sale on ebay.
As for other rare options: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=472076 |

Re: flarestat 105's
I found one in an old GMC 1 ton with a regular knob and a GM installed fire extinguisher with the original bracket and full charge/tamper seal for less than 12 bucks. I just need to wire it in when I get back to Washington.

Re: flarestat 105's
If you are not a purest like me, you can still buy a new Flarestat that is very close to the original that came in our trucks. The knob doesn't have bowties of course.
