Thermostat questions
So I recently just replaced my thermostat on my chevy 355 (350 bored over). I put a new 180 degree thermostat in and now the motor is running around 177-180 degrees. Is this to cold to run at for a small block should I try a 195 thermostat??? Is running this cold going to make my fuel mileage worse???

Re: Thermostat questions
Everyone has an idea of what is right. I run a 180 degree Superstat in my 383 stroker engine in my 84 truck. I also have a BeCool radiator and electric fans. I get a steady 15 MPG from a truck with a stroked engine, 3:73 gears, 700 R4 tranny, that has a 2400 stall converter, and a low profile tire. I would consider this to be relatively good for a truck that has a T/stat at that low of temp. It is up to you, but the HP will respond to the cooler temps.
