Picked up some more rarities NOS Hickey fender flares and manual tank switching valve

I know the tank switching valve isn't super rare but around here they are pretty hard to come by and this is only the second one I have found. I wish there were more available since it seems the electric ones seem to have so many issues.
The really great piece I came up with is the NOS set of Hickey fender flares. They were a challenge to get as I initially contacted the seller over a month ago and never heard anything back. Then one day I get a cryptic text that says Yes VickHick New. Wasn't exactly sure what it meant but did know I had been searching for Hickey stuff so I sent a text back asking if it was about a Chevy truck or Hickey stuff and heard nothing. I got to thinking about it and remembered the flares. I sent another text asking if this is what it was about. Still nothing. I decided that is what it had to be about and called the guy. I was right. Made the 200 mile round trip and they are now home with me. The seller had received these from Hickey under warranty in 1982 after some manufacturing defect on the set he had on his 77 Jimmy. He never got around to installing these. Not sure what I will do with them as these are the big flares that you have to cut the body. I guess if I get a rusty Jimmy or truck it will be a good candidate for these. Either way I am pleased. I didn't want to unwrap them all of the way so only opened the part with the cast HE logo. Hope you like them!

They are nice heavy fiberglass. I probably paid less than they cost new.

I am gradually gathering up Hickey stuff. Have the flares, front truss, all the sidewinder winch pieces(minus the winch) 2 12 bolt covers, the hitch ball mount for the brush guard and working on getting the rear truss bar.

This is the first set that I have actually seen. To be honest with you I have never thought to look for them on vehicles. I have seen fiberglass flares on trucks at the wrecking yards but never thought to see if they had the HE logo

Tom, I just saw this post. I am not interested in selling these at this time. They are the only set that I have seen surface. Unless the Blazer is something extremely special that had a lot of Hickey items it would be hard to justify the cost of NOS Hickey flares. Bushwacker makes some similar flares for cut out Blazers that are really easy to find. .

Tom, VERY nice site! I love how it is set up! I am working on getting mine up. Having difficulty with the artist that I am using to do my logo and a rendition of my truck. It has been 2 months since I first contacted him and I still haven't seen anything. He is a well known artist and does many renditions for Classic Trucks and Rod and Custom. I am sure it will be worth the wait. I am just excited to get it done. Wasn't your crew cab featured in Classic Trucks a few years back?

Jonboy, No idea on the manual dual tank valve value. I haven't ever searched them and haven't tried to sell any. I know complete set ups are hard to find though

Just curious. I pulled the setup off of my truck as I am not running dual tanks anymore.

Re: Picked up some more rarities NOS Hickey fender flares and manual tank switching v

Jeff,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I am searching for the mounting bracket/skid plate to mount a Hickey Sidewinder winch into a 1975 Chevy Blazer.

I am in the process of building a Hickey style 1975 Blazer and am looking for any other Hickey items you might have available. I am still bummed after my computer failed me last night before I could enter my high bid for the Hickey steps you had!

Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

OOOO...those are cool!
Do they rivet on like the army Blazer with big outer edge or do they have a smaller lip for mounting?
I'd need to go '73-'75 a truck to just mount them!
Thanks!

They are the rivet on style which means the body needs to be cut.

I really like the idea of it. Just so basic and simple. The electric ones seem to be such a hassle.
