Quick Ratio Power Steering - Code FE3?

Researching quick ratio power steering box/gear for 1986 C10, using a 1985, Buick Grand National as a potential source of quick ratio gear, parts source shows, different steering gear when (FE3) option code, sports suspension installed. This same "gear" shows for all Monte Carlo SS.

Other post here indicate that this power steering gear/box fits 1986 C10, and should be a 12.7:1 unit, 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 turns lock to lock. Codes on steering gear include:YA ; WS ; or HX.

Has anybody done this conversion with one of these? Issues? How does it drive, issues at Hwy speeds and big a.. tires? What lock to lock did you find.

Reman unit is under $ 200 wo/ like trade-in.

Our trucks are the odd ball as far as steering gears. Most mount inside the frame, ours doesn't. The Saginaw 800 has the 12.7 gearing. Ours is an 808. Gears won't interchange. The stocker is a 13-16/1 variable. You can get a 14/1 also in a stocker type box. If you want to spend big bucks naturally you can get whatever you want. Call Lee if you want to get something custom. I've heard redhead can build custom boxes too.
