Where to buy pulleys?
I have misplaced the engine pulleys that came off my truck and I really don't know what I need.. 72 model truck newer block.. Dipstick on passenger side.. Has power steering and aftermarket air.. Any help would be appreciated..

Pulleys are usually determined by the water pump (short or long)

Cheapest place would be a wrecking yard but Summit and Jegs sell billet and anodized aluminum ones but they can be pricey You could also go to a dealer, you should have the long water pump so they would be easy to find.

Junkyard, Craigslist, etc. As stated above they will be different depending on your water pump.

Are you looking for stock type pulleys or aftermarket? If stock type let's figure out what you have and where you need to be.

oh boy this can be fun. Took me three orders back and forth to get right. Your truck is a small block? Must be newer than 73 if it is a long water pump. you running a stock alternator set up? I bet you need a 3 pulley bottom and single top, but you could buy a 2 groove top also. I had to use a 3 pulley bottom, which comes in 2 pieces, and I had to shim the outer one a bit to line up to the power steering. post pics.

OK, these trucks came stock with short water pumps. That's OK. Did you ever have it all together and running? Do you have the power steering brackets, alternator brackets? What side of the motor is your alternator set up for?

There's no shortage of pulley sets for long water pump applications. Every sad sack 305 and 350 from the mid 70s through the mid 80s used them. Cars, vans, trucks, Suburbans.... What I'm trying to say is, I can't imagine the need to buy new ones when there's so many out there in junkyards, Craigslist, etc.
