I did a test fit before I put the motor in...the plates only one way...the holes for the screws that mount em to the block are dished in. I turned them around to see how they sit on the block and the long end of the plate hit parts of the block and wouldn't sit flush. I tried each plate on both sides to make sure I put them on the correct sides. heres a pic of the plates...don't have a pic of em on the motor.

Yes, this is what I was talking about on one of my first posts to this thread. That more pointed side should point towards the front of the engine. I'd bet that they are on the other way around. Thats what the ones that i posted a link to have a notch in them, to clear the block. If I'm right, to make these fit you'll have to clearance the boss on the block.

These are the ones from the link I posted earlier that I use that place the engine/trans right into place to be able to reuse the driveshaft. They point forward and that notch clears the boss on the block.
