must be fule pump week

My truck has been running fine so far this spring, left it for about 4 days becase of all the rain, went out today to start it up to get ready for next week. It fired right up then quit. They only way I could get it to fire again was to pour gas directly into the carb, it would only run long enough to burn the fuel that I just pored into it. I checked the fuel pressure guage by having my wife bump the starter and it stayed at zero. Can I assume this is the fuel pump? Seem before that my fuel pressue guage would stay around 5-8 pounds even after the engine was off.

Re: must be fule pump week

Could be fuel pump, or plugged fuel filter, or bad line to fuel pump, or rotted suction hose from gas tank, or you are out of gas.

yea, I have two tanks of gas, I had went down and filled them both up last time we had nice weather. The hoses and lines are all new(2 years old). I did a quick inspection last night and didnt see any leaking gas anywhere. Both tanks and sending units are new also. For that matter the fule pump is new also. I ordered a new holley 110 pump from summit last night, I wil replace that and go from there.
Thanks.
