Drum brake question

Was wondering if you could help, I used a rear diff from a 1990 2wd silverado that was narrowed and had new axles from Moser made but had them install 1/2" studs instead of the 14 mm to match my front rotors (72 c10). The center hole around the hub is the same size but doesn't fit tight and the stud holes are obviously larger. I was wondering if the earlier drums from the mid 80's that had 1/2" studs would fit my application or did I screw myself

Re: Drum brake question

with the amount of torque you put on the wheel it wont matter that the drum hole is a tad bigger not enough to worry about 14mm and 1/2 is very very small diff your all good

Re: Drum brake question

How tight should the hub hole fit the hub stub? I have a little less than 1/16" play.

Re: Drum brake question

The fit of the drum to the axle spud needs to be a close fit. That is what centers the drum. The fit on the studs can be a little loose.
