Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
finally found the mirrors i always wanted, got em off my buddy's 66 he was guna junk. not in the best shape but ill work my magic. finished one. disassembled, sand blasted n shot w/ gloss white. the picture of my truck next to... i think he said it was a 64.. either way. the truck stayed like this for months. i drove it everywhere n got allot of use out of it. now the real fun begins. local guy in town has big all american car show every year n i missed last year because the belair is in the middle of a restoration also. so i didnt have a car to take. that was the big push on the truck. had 3 weeks off work and school, chose to use it wisely. working on classic trucks n getting greasy what else could one ask for.

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
got a few goodies for the truck today, its original for what the truck came with from factory, probably not the exact one tho. the hub caps are off a 2000s gmc 3/4 ton, been looking for them for long time! but i need all new metric wheel studs.

this is how the spot light started i picked n chose the parts that worked, and were in the best shape. id say it turned out neat, going to wire it up tomorrow. find out if its a 6v or a 12v. if there's a bzzzzz pop, 6v. runs after that. were golden

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
Thanks man. The color you painted yours is what I was going for. But all I had to work with was white and John deere green tractor paint. Looking back on it if I added a hint of blue it'd darken it up. But for now I'm happy. The color had mellowed down a bit after baking in the sun.

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
So after little over half a year. I have enough photos to break my silence. IT seems there's a shortage of factory k20s. With inline anything. Especially 292's. ya,ll know where this is going. Body swap. Axle builds. And because it's my job and I just love tig welding way to much for my own good . Going to try n seek some of those pretty little welds in wherever I can. Plan is a close to factory 1965 k20 long bed factory 4x4 292 and 4 speed. Rockwell t221 tc. Hope all enjoy. Truck even has factor shocks un molested for the most part. 2 or 3 owner truck. And only had to pay for gas down there...and give the guy my bike. BUT! big thanks to everyone who inspired this build! Everyone on the site seems to be so helpful and just love these trucks. thank you.

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.
The cab and bed are gone. I'm taking the body off my c20. (Green one) and putting it o. The painted frame. When I'm at my PA I'll post some more pictures of the almost finished frame.
