Converting from standard to auto
Any one have any input on the cpp auto steering column vs the idit column? Pros cons to both?

Good read that was very helpful. Have yo or anyone else used the idit column seems to be the clear choice for safety reasons.

CPP column is a piece of junk. Shifter mechanism makes horrible grinding sounds...
I say either keep what you have now or spend the extra couple hundred for the Ididit.

If you are not looking for a tilt column, OEM auto columns are abundant in junkyards. If you are looking for a tilt column, OEM van tilts are far less expensive than any aftermarket column and very easy to adapt to our trucks.

A site banner ad popped up advertising this company, Steering Columns Galore, http://www.columnsgalore.com. They offer rebuilt columns and parts. Did a quick check and for a 69-72 tilt they only offer customer supplied column rebuild service at $525!
