Re: how to install this?

I would build a receiver hitch setup that bolts to the front frame rails and set it up on a hitch plate. That way when you don't need it, it is out the weather and you can keep the look of the truck intact. No matter what you choose to do it will be a custom build.

Re: how to install this?

Yup, you'll have to custom build a mount.
2 ton or 4,000 pound winch isn't much, minimum capacity to get you out of anything would be an 8,000 winch.

Re: how to install this?

Yea. I have given up on it for now. Yes the wench is very big! I need it tho. I pull trailers with a lot f weight on em. Was pulling in the drive while it was raining and I had my dump trailer full of trees and my truck is 2wd. She sunk and got stuck. Had to flag down a 4x4 to pull me out. Wish my k20 was running. 1974 k20 with a 75 grill.

Re: how to install this?

I don't know if you could strap a wench that size on the front of your truck.

I had a neighbor who was into 4 wheeling and had a 79 toyota pu he wheeled with. He mounted two receiver hitches to his truck, one front and on rear. then mounted his winch to a "receiver hitch winch mount" like this

http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com...er-Winch-Mount

Then when not in use it sat in the tool box in the bed or in the garage. When needed he would just connect it on which ever end of the truck it was needed.

I always thought that this was a super idea myself.
