Re: lets see your custom touches

I welded all the seams around my doors, I also smoothed the wrinkles out of the rear of the door where the latch is,

I also cast this shift lever for my transfer case

This is my simple speaker grill, a few aluminum spacers and a couple strips of aluminum, I need to anodize them still.

Talking Re: lets see your custom touches

Where do I start.

Built my own cold air box.

Frenched the front bumper with fog light LED parking lights and shaved bumper bolts.

Louvered the hood. Have electric washer with nozzels on the wiper arms along with delay.

Frenched the annteana into the cab. Had custom pin stripping added to the truck

Shaved the vent windows and put sport mirrors on it.

Detrimed it all and shaved the gas filler hole.

It has LED's in all the lights. Several more but these are the most seen.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: lets see your custom touches

I like the subtle things, things that look like the "could have been" factory when done. The 60-66 trucks (yes, I realize this is the 67-72 forum) had no parking brake indicator. So, necessity is the mother of invention (used a spare brake lt switch on the pbrake handle and used a vacant med duty truck indicator in the dash). Have some similar plans for the 72, maybe - perhaps use one of the windows available in the fuel gauge...

Re: lets see your custom touches

i have just mocked up putting aluminum checker plate where the first 6" of wood goes on my box to make it stronger and easier to replace the wood if it rots without having to separate the box from the cross sills

Re: lets see your custom touches

I machined a extension for my shifter, in the pic its fresh off the lathe but I've since rusted it to match the bottom part. I might still make another one a couple inches taller so I can knock the rearview mirror off and whack my girl upside the head when shifting gears

He mounted them in the left front headlight of course! He mounted the left front headlight in the tailgate latch and moved the latch to gas filler neck.
