1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
Hey guys I have a 69 C-10 that has gone a long time without a proper setup for the carb and kickdown cable. How did you hook yours up? Can anyone, and I mean anyone give me a little list of parts I will need for this install?

Re: 1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
Welcome to the site you'll love the Edelbrock. as long as they are clean and have a GOOD filter close to the carb that will keep the needle and seat happy. The fuel pump pressure shouldn't be over about 5.5 psi that is where they like it best. If you can keep the needle and seat clean and unstuck that carb will make you happy for a long while to come. Now the main thing is your gonna need some brackets for the throttle cable and the kick down cable. I would shop one of the big superstores like JEG's or SUMMIT or even call EDELBROCK and ask them what they say to use as a bracket. Good luck with it. Jim

My first thought is, 'What tranny?'
Hard to give you a parts list without that info. |

Re: 1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
It's a TH350 on a truck that was originally a two barrel. I have seen so many vague setups and have called Edelbrock but have failed to receive much guidance. Right now my trans kickdown is not hooked up and my throttle is pretty much rigged in a manner I do not like. Any pics, part info, etc..would help.

If you have the throttle arm (instead of a cable, I'm not sure when they switched) you can use the Chrysler lever bracket that came with the carb to hook up the arm. If you need a pic of mine, I can get you one.
As far as the kick down, I can't help. I don't have mine hooked up either. For me, it's not that big of a deal with a Powerglide.

You want pics of cable hook ups and brackets just use google 'images'.
Search for edelbrock kickdown brackets. A hundred pics come up with links to the info. |

Re: 1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
I have done that but believe it or not I have yet to see the image of one complete view displaying the whole setup. I was hoping on this forum someone, anyone, could visibly take a pic of show meone of their setup to assist me. This is a specialty forum so perhaps someone would be so kind as to assist a fellow 67-72 Chevy truck enthusiast?

Re: 1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
LJS30...I just installed a new Edelbrock 1405 this week on my 72. I will snap a pic in a little while and post so you can see what I did. I have the cable (not the rod) for the accelerator and my kickdown cable is hooked up. I changed my throttle return spring as well since the previous owner had one that was stretched to death and mounted funky. I changed where it was mounted and it looks way cleaner.
Thanks. |

Here is my Edelbrock 1406. I got all the additional hookup pins and knobs at a local speed shop, but they are all Edelbrock parts.

Re: 1969 C-10 (Edelbrock intake/Carb)(SETUP)
Is it safe to assume your truck is still set up for a rod rather than cable? If so, maybe this will help. I don't think you'd need any additional brackets with a rod. Be sure not to forget a return spring of some type though.
I have a Holley on my 69 and was able to use the factory Q-Jet rod with a couple tweaks. However, mine's a TH400 so I can't help with your kickdown. Below are a couple links I got from a previous thread that I've been considering. The first link deals with fabbing a rod for a Mustang, but it should work for any carb. The second is for parts at Summit Racing. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...rottleLinkage/ http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...Linkage&page=2 |

I think Mr. Gasket makes one and Autozone or AA should have them.

Thanks!
Now we see what you got, but we need a better pic of your cable that's laying there. It's hard to see with your pic. Looks like you might be missing part of it that's used to mount it to a bracket. |

Even with that pic I can't figure out what bracket you'll need to set it up.
Sorry for this. Could you lift that cable up out of there and take one more pic. |

I'll take another pic today for you as I'm replacing header gaskets on that truck. Oh keep in mind it's a total work horse so I apologize for the dirty conditions.

Here are two more pics geezer. Keep in mind this thing is a work truck so I don't keep it very clean overall.

Sorry! Your pics don't help. I don't recall a cable like that.
Have you followed it to see where it goes? Have you confirmed you have a turbo 350? |
