Rear Sway Bar

I have been tossing around the udea fo a rear sway bar for some time. I [ut the front one on last summer and was pleased with the results. Last week I went to a salvage yard and found a rear sway bar on a 95 gmc yucon. Today my brother and I put it on.

I'd like to know what you think about it's performance after you test it out. I've read that rear sway bars are frowned upon in these trucks since they are so light in the rear.

twitch, the biggest problem I had was moving the moving the short piece from being mounted on the outside of the bar to the inside of the bar.

66 skylark---- from what Ive seen, the ones for a coil rear end are dufferent.

My 67 stepside has the ECE 1 1/4 in sway bar in front and the CPP 3/4 in bar in the rear (and yes, it IS for a coil spring rear). When I drop back to 15 in rims (from 17's with street tires) for an autocross the sports car guys laugh because it's a truck. When my time is posted they are all thankful I run in a weird class because that truck is quicker than a Lotus Exige and a Porsche Boxster S. The only thing in the local club I can't beat is an Ariel Atom.

I bought the LMC aftermarket one and I wouldn't recommend it. It's a bit better now with the weight of the bed and so on, but as you can see I had to put it in a weird place because the end-links aren't long enough to reach the frame.

So, I conclude that the bar certainly isn't made specifically for our trucks.

Once I get closer to final stance I will likely change the end-links.

I used a rear anti-swaybar from CPP it fits like a glove some drilling and some patience to get the bar level took about 2 hrs install time.Now for the road test
Holy awesome i have no more shimmy shutter bug over rough roads and it hugs amazingly in tight corners

I have one that is mounted in front of the axle. It clamps on the frame and control arms. I believe it was from performance suspension in Phoenix. It makes a big difference on my truck. My truck sits a bit lower than most stock trucks but it was not lowered. It is a coil spring truck and tightened the rear up nicely. It does not seem to make the truck loose but stays flatter through the turns. I still have the stock one up front. I run Monroe Reflex shocks.

That sounds good. I might have to give it a try. Does it make normal everyday driving any different (stiff or bouncy)?

That piece is identical to the CPP rear roll bar for trailing arm rears.

Normal driving is the same. The truck will ride as soft or harsh as the shocks and springs you use. Since my front and rear springs have the same compliance as the stock springs I see no difference. It took me a few tries to get used to how it corners. Flat, and fast is the only way to describe it. The first time I did a 90 it was very hard to resist standing on the brakes but the truck went around almost as fast as my Z51 Corvette.

Awesome! It's on my list of summer projects now. I have all Early classic suspension stuff and a front sway bar already.

The ADDCO sway bar in your first link is (almost) identical to the CPP bar that I run except it is a smaller diameter. The CPP bar is stiffer and I like it better.

I added the rear sway bar from CPP along with front sway bar from another truck to my 72 suburban and it is a huge improvement and handles a lot better now.
