My latest purchase
Bought this little jewel as my next project. All original body panels, 283, 3 speed on the column, manual steering & brakes. Even still has the cardboard divider between the seat and fuel tank and it's 100% intact. Three speed column is very tight, and the original vinyl mat is still in the floor with no holes in it. Let's see where we go from here.

Re: My latest purchase
Looks like an earlier version of my truck! I wish mine was a 283....
Actually, please don't change anything on this one....I just love 3ott's and stepsides with the spare on the side. Last edited by In The Ten Ring; 05-22-2014 at 12:14 AM. |

Re: My latest purchase
Thanks everybody. I plan on just fixing a couple of minor mechanical things and then driving it for a shakedown period before venturing off the path. I'm really into the "shop truck" look with the weathered outside, but much more driver friendly underneath stuff. We'll see though. Who knows, someone may see it and decide they want it more than I do!

Re: My latest purchase
I actually found it on Hattiesburg Craigslist after it had been listed for 7 hours. Guy lived up close to Laurel, MS. Indications would point to the fact that it's been here since new. If that's the case, it had to have been kept inside, because the normal places you find rust issues on these are all clean. Worst spot on the truck is the angle strip across the front bed panel where the ends of the wood rest. Everything else is incredibly clean. A few dings, but that gives it character to me!
