That's funny. Sad, but funny. Unfortunately local parts stores are hit and miss as to what automotive education they picked up. It's not their fault really, the curriculum is geared towards the common life span of new cars, roughly the last 15 years of technology. Random question though, why haven't you switched to HEI?

Funny you mention hei, I just want the truck mechanically as it was in 72 plus I like to keep the old technology alive, I have a box with probably 4 or 5 hei distributors and a whole crapload of caps bc my dad had a junkyard but as of right now I don't want it
