Talking Id like to Re-introduce myself. With Ol'Blue

So, a few years back i was a pretty active member on here. Had an incredible passion for my truck and really loved the life and building. I made a poor decision and the truck was stolen. Kinda put me in a terrible funk, i assume anyone can understand this. So i was done with the whole racket for a few years, but IM BACK!!! HEAVY CHEVY IN HAND!!!

Due to some personal issues, My Grandfather (My stepdads dad) is no longer able to keep up with his things, and his trucks were gana be tossed...UHHHHMMM HELL NO!!!..

This past weekend the wife and i loaded up and went to Pawpaw's...we came home with Ol'Blue

My Stepdad and i all loaded up.

1964 Chevy c30, dually flatbed. Things a HAUWSE!!!

Straight 6 (292...i think) 4 on the floor all original (its had a few paint jobs, but its made for a great patina finish form the weather).

My plans are to do ABSOLUTELY nothing with it visually. Im getting him road ready, safe and clean.. AN DRIVING IT TILL THE WHEEL FALL OFF!!.

One thing i really missed when i built my 72 was that Old "Crusty" feel. An old truck just has a soul and a story to tell to me. Some rusted out rocker panels just have a place in my heart i guess, makes me feel 8years old again.

This monster is pretty solid, we pulled it out onto the trailer, brought em home. Wires, Plugs, Cap, Button, Fuel Pump Charged the Battery... VROOM cranks rite up! Beautiful. Needs new brake lines all the way around, and probably a master cylinder while im at it. We've taken a few rides around the property, slow slow rides using the e-brake to stop. Cruises nicely.

So hopefully this weekend brings fresh brake lines and some stopping power, so my lady, my dog and i can put a few miles under this heafty boy. Ive already got TONS of questions so be prepared!!!

Im feeling a bit more myself this past week, thanks PawPaw and Ol'Blue.

Sidenote: From Decoding the VIN i notice it was made in Atlanta, putting it rite around the time PawPaw was working at the Plant that produced these trucks (he was there from 61-78 approx). So this things been in the family a while ;-)

I love hearing about these trucks staying in the same family since new. It just makes them a little more special

I'm glad you're back and have rekindled your passion for Chevy trucks

Neat truck, and howdy from just down the road in Dallas, GA! I have a couple of one tons myself--my '65 stepside one ton is my current daily driver, in fact.

BTW, if you have any more trucks you need to get rid of just let me know!

Glad to see ya back! And one hell of an awesome truck to! The 292 straight 6 has 6 inch tall side covers and the fuel pump is about in the center of the block behind the motor mount. You should keep just one head light on there! LOL! Kinda looks awesome/hilarious that way.

hmm, my fuel pump is in front of the mount. So that would make the engine a 230...rite??? seems those were the options for this truck.
Still havent decoded the numbers from the Engine, too much work this week. MEEHH thanks again fellas.

have gotten a few laps around the property tho.

There were two versions of the 230 offered in 64. Something like a 120 HP version and a 125 HP version. Yours is a 230. Easy way to tell would be the flat top pistons. The 250 wasn't available until 66 I believe.

May very well be a swapped in 250, too. Post a picture and/or the numbers and I'll probably be able to tell you what it is. Not that it really matters, I guess.

Re: Id like to Re-introduce myself. With Ol'Blue

that is a sweet looking C30. I have a soft spot for duals and that's why I am building a C30 as well. if you want to upgrade the front to disks its pretty easy to do with a frontend out of a 73-86 c30 front end(that's what I did) same with the rear. I look forward to watching the progress on this one

Great looking truck from another guy just down the road in Dallas. I like your plans, I wouldn't change a thing.

That last picture with the barn, looks almost vintage because of the focus, - COOL. I can't wait to get mine of the road to do photo's shoots.
