Talking Trading My 1980 Chevy C10. (Building My Dream SUV)

So a few days ago, I decided to see on craigslist who would trade for my C10. I got a bite, I found a gentlemen who wants a truck, but is willing to trade for my C10. As you all know from my low budget build thread, I have put my sweat blood and tears into my C10, Even in the shape it is in with the rust she still runs strong with a 292 CID Inline Six that was pulled from a 1986 3/4 4x4. Well, the guy has emailed me several times, and Finaly sent photos of his rig. A 1992 3/4 ton K2500 with 5.7 Liter v8, The truck looks great, I need the extra room, Not to mention facing surgery, its gonna be hard to shift. But I have thought about it for the past 3 days, and I am going to trade.

The 92 Suburban has 2 things that I do hate in a 4x4. 4 Speed Automatic Transmission, And Stock Axles. So, I am planning to Rebuild The Suv. First to go is the Old Engine, Second will be the Automatic Trans & Steering Column. Then I will be removing my FF Dana 60's from my 1973 GMC Super Custom 4x4. The transmission will be replaced by a 4 Speed Manual Trans that was rebuilt 2 yrs ago with NP208 Gear Driven Transfercase.

In-between replacing the Axles, I will add my Rough Country 4" Lift Kit so I can replace the 235/75R16's with my 35x12.50R16 Mickey Thompson Baja tires. I will also be rebuilding the Front Clip. Getting Rid of the Plastic and Going back to what I know, I will be replacing the front clip from a 1989 Suburban. The SUV has already been colored primer black. So alot of all of this has already been done. Now we get to the Engine, I have a 2 Bolt 1998 Vortec Engine with Eddlebrock Performance Parts already built for this truck.

What I am planning is to do a full custom build to this truck and I want to bring yall along for the ride. Converting the Suburban into a truck might be tricky but with other builders here, I feel confident that I can get help. So I might just have use for the 73 Split Window Cab. So the 8 passenger Suv might just be missing the 3rd Row Bench Seat after all. I am gonna build a Monster like the 1979 CUVU GMC High Sierra Jimmy.

I am sure ya do, I built her from the ground up. And its had at leased 2 front clips rebuilt because I have hit deer or an elk. But with the 292 -L6 under the hood she powers through just like a v8
