My Daughter's 72 just made it home
the truck's here but she's not expecting it so it should make for a nice surprise when her and mom get home from work! I would have to say my garage is now full, not sure what the wife is going to do with her ford now but I'm happy happy happy! I told her she needed to join the forum's we'll see if she decides to join in.
I've shared the other pic's i have of it in another post but here they are again and I'm sure i'll be adding some more later. http://s1054.photobucket.com/user/wr...zys%2072%20C10

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
she's 15. Right at the moment just clean it up and get it running good. she made a deal with a buddy of mine that runs a repair shop and he's going to set her up with aluminum intake, carb and hei in trade for cleaning the shop/odd jobs. Another buddy is selling her a set of rally's with all the trim for $100. At one point it was offered to me as a throw a battery in and drive it home but I've later learned it will run but it's ugly. so far today she's got the battery tray out and all the years of debris cleared out of the rad support and fender pocket's. next up is the pressure washer and cleaning out the rodent debri in the cab.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
pretty close to the top of the list it swap out the inst panel for my spare gauges panel I have but I need to do some searching on what's all involved in swapping them out.
another note here's the number off the front of the motor trying to look it up to see what engine it is but having no luck matching up these numbers.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
That is cool, glad to see your daughter involved in these trucks. nice truck also to start with. My daughter loved here 1969 when she was in high school, and wished she had it back.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
thanks for the comments. I do need some help he robbed the gas tank out of it before we made the deal. I have 3 gas tanks to pick from and they are all 69/70. I was just looking at ordering a new grommet and I see the 71/72 is different. am I going to run into trouble trying to use a 69/70 tank? which grommet would I want to use? Thanks again. on the engine decode once we get everything degreased i'll get numbers off the back of the block just need to get this old girl back under her own power so I can pull it out to pressure wash it don't feel like pushing it back uphill a second time.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
A lot of parts I pulled off mine are still good. I'm going with a blazer tank, dash cluster tail lights and grill soon plus what ever odds and ends.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
nice we'll have to get together sometime see what you got biggest thing we need is a eec tank and sender. Eric has a tank for $25 but he already sold the sender I have to dig around his yard and see if I can find another sender.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home
thanks she is. she has been out there everyday after work cleaning away. Just noticed I forgot to tell you all the best part about this truck they only paid $650 for it.
One other wish list item is p/s upgrade. Does the p/s gear box have to be off a disc brake truck or would a gear box off a drum brake truck work as well? thanks again
