Picked up a 49 Five Window!
This is my first of this series of truck. It's a 1949 with original drivetrain. Engine runs but I'm going to replace the fuel tank and rebuild the carb as well as all the ignition system. It's pretty solid although someone has welded in a few patch panels in the floor pretty poorly that will have to be redone eventually. I plan to drive it as is for a couple years until I finish my other projects then give it a full restore.

They are reflectors. They're on the side of the box too the guy it bought it from said they're original and rare but I have my doubts. Anyone ever seen them before?

Re: Picked up a 49 Five Window!
I've seen them before. I think I even drug home with some damaged ones on it at one time. Original? they were probably installed by the owner when the truck was new. If you have ever followed one of these trucks with stock lights at night they can be a bit hard to see and those reflectors help (ed) them show up in the headlights of the guy behind you or the guy coming down a side street. Bad part is that the metal behind them is usually pretty well rusted as they tended to trap dirt and moisture.
