Got another truck

So after i practically stole my first truck, a 61 for 400$ and drove it home, i scored yet again! I found me a 63 longbed bbw all original except the steering column :/ for only 300$! of course i couldnt pass it up! so now i have two lovely longbeds! a 1961 and a 1963, let me know what you think!

Nice score man. It's awesome when you can find a truck on the cheap!

Re: Got another truck

Nice! Looks like it has a later engine and a '64-'66 grill, though (not like that's really a bad thing). Also has an HEI distributor in it as a bonus.

Re: Got another truck

I should say mostly original, specially compared to my hacked and butchered 1961 that i saved from the PO.

Re: Got another truck

It looks like it has earlier the Custom Cab trim that wraps around the back of the cab. If it actually has that trim and the correct sail panels, those parts are probably worth two or three times as much as you gave for the whole truck.

I think you should be reported for steeling or maybe get award for being a hero for saving two trucks lives.
Great score.

Re: Got another truck

Be sure to clean up the salvageable parts off that I6 and sell them....that HEI should clean up nicely...and you could probably make some money off it...The head off the engine may be in good shape..so you may be able to sell it to. Anyhow...nice truck for the money!

Re: Got another truck

REVOH it does have the custom cab sail panels and it DOES have the little trim that wraps around the rear of the window

i try to save em when i can! specially when they are as cheap as i find them!

also if my brother doesnt give the i6 the ok to rebuild the entire motor will be for sale cheap enough to get it gone and allow me to move on with my build.

Last two full sets I saw sold on ebay went for $350...keep your eyes peeled, they do pop up. It would be nice if mar-k could reproduce it.

They pop up in the classifieds here too...just got another set of the sails for $125 2 weeks ago.

Id leave it on personally...nice for two tone tops too. Or put it on your 61.

Re: Got another truck

im not much of a trim guy, i take it off so people who will appreciate it more than i would can have the opportunity to have it, sure it would look good but its not that desirable to me.

Re: Got another truck

Re: Got another truck

Yes, the trim around the winshield was part of the deluxe package. Its stainless steel. You have to remove the windshield to get the trim off as its installed in the gasket prior to the glass.
