Camaro front ssuspension?

I am getting close to starting my X275 truck build. I have a 67 C10 and I already swapped to a 87 5 lug disc setup. I am wanting the truck as light a possible (like 2700 lbs). Which means I want to run the Wildwood Dynalite Drag brakes. Well they dont make the kit for a c10. Is there anyway to run camaro front suspension? Or at the least spindles so I can get the dynalite brakes?

I am working on doing a mustang 2 spindle on my 63. This will have Willwood dynamite brakes.

How is that going? Drilling the spindles out to work? Or what?

Re: Camaro front ssuspension?

I'll be watching this one very closely, i too need some serious weight loss in the front without spending major $$$$!! My current coilover rear with single adj. QA1's and 2" drop splindles, 1" drop springs with CE 3 way adjustable front shocks nets me little if any weight transfer, SUCKS!

That's an agressive target!!!

Has anyone gotten even close to that with a stock frame and steel body?

my 66 is at 3550 with backhalf of the frame whacked to 2x3 frame kit, fiberglas hood and fenders, and aluminum bed / no tailgate. I can't believe the 67 can have that much opprotunity to loose nearly another thousand pounds without a light tube chassis end to end and not a lot of steel body parts.. bu tam I wrong????

Re: Camaro front ssuspension?

Marv,

I agree it would take a lot to be there. I believe dj said his was down to 3,000 with his old BBC combo, not sure if that was with him in it or not.

Mine was 3,200 with me in it last time I was out but we know mine has had quite a bit odd weight reduction. I am at 200lbs
CM back half with 4-link
No front bumper
Modified front cross member
Summit light weight seats
No hood and cut out fenderwells
no tailgate

Re: Camaro front ssuspension?

My brakes are made from a camaro hub. It was machined to fit the c/10 bearing races. There is a spacer to load the back bearing from the spindle to get the right preload , Cory at The Brake Man did them for me.
