Big rear window on a 72 - rare option ?

So after owning my my 77 and selling it I'm looking to get back into the chevy truck world , I look at the c10s on craigslist and come across this one which he has for $11k (I'm assuming obo )

Quote:
PLEASE STOP FLAGGING MY AD...im not violating any cl rules

text or email is preferred ...1st...im testing the waters here...I have appraisal papers some place for this truck in the uppers teens....2nd...I don't need help selling this truck

1972 chevy c10.29k miles on rebuild engine truck is a factory short bed, big window work truck. the truck is very rare. there were 2200 produced in this combo for the run of this body style. the truck has a 6 month old bag system featuring fr,bk,side to side, new electric valves. newer stereo, custom yuengling shifter 350 with newer 5spd from a Camaro. paint is hotrod flat black about 6 month old. front disk conversion newer exhaust.not shown in pics.....shaved side markers, relocated tanks under bed..newer and interior pics soon
Bad....exhaust leak...have new gasket, valve cover leak..have new gasket

mostly testing the waters..open to trades..no fwd at all..mostly looking for cash offers or something new...it ur offer isn't in the teens don't bother wasting our times..the truck is rare and I know what its worth

clean California title
I email him asking wasn't 71 and 72 factory disc brakes and he says they were not standard on the base model truck. Me personally I thought they were standard on 72s and above. And I've never really heard of the big window option as all the ones I have looked at online have been a big window. Just asking about these options since I don't know if he's just trying to hype up the truck or if it's truly rare.

Big window became standard in 68. Disk brakes in 71.

Probably a '67 with the rare big window and originally had NO side markers with the front disc conversion, probably still has 6 lug wheels instead of 5.

jethro could cypher up to the number 20 .... if he took his boots off... by 1871, most stagecoaches had no rear window, just a trunk behind the rear passengers seat ... where luggage was tied down ... and it had a slanted leather cover to stop apache arrows... braking was done with a wooden lever that put friction on the steel tire rim of the front [drivers side] wheel...

This is correct. Every 10-30 series had a big back window in 68 and every 10-20 had disc brakes in 71 and possibly the 30 series also, but not positive on the one ton part

My 1972 is about as "base model" as you can get and it has a big rear window and front disk brakes.

This craigslist seller is mistaken.

Re: Big rear window on a 72 - rare option ?

Just for your information, I just bought a 72 Cheyenne Super 30 chassis mount camper. Camper is junk, very nice buckets, tilt, interior, and "disk brakes", not hydro boost, if this was available. Camper is a dually. Camper part is being junked, keeping everything else, frame is going to be cut up for scrape, don't need it. So 1 ton's did have disk brakes.

Dang it... I had a customer come in a few days ago looking for just this Camaro. I didn't have one so he took a Yenko Pinto instead......

I have one of the super rare 7 window firebirds. That was for 1967 only. They went to the much less desirable 5 windows in 1968.

The reason he didn't respond is that you didn't tell him what year the Camaro was. If it was a '66 it would be money, but a '67-69 no so much

Re: Big rear window on a 72 - rare option ?

I don't know if any of you are aware, but there is a "best of" for Craigslist ads. Many people do post inaccurate information about their vehicles and while most of the time it's due to ignorance and I don't mean that in the derogatory sense, it can be for these reasons. These types of posts and the use of words like "rare" are seller tactics to move a vehicle or con uneducated buyers.
