I had a guy stop by today and asked on cowl hoods is the cut for the cowl open so he can put bigger stuff on top motor and still be covered or is it just molded right on top of hood? Thanks of any help, Randy

Randy,

Most aftermarket fiberglass cowl hoods are open on the underside to accommodate taller intakes, carbs and air cleaners. They are a one piece mold. Not sure about any steel cowl hoods but I would bet they are the same.

Hope this helps.
Tom

Re: cowl hood ???

My steel cowl hood has about three inch rise and is open on the underside with a screen at the rear of the hood with quarter inch holes. It fit's well.

Re: cowl hood ???

I got mine from LMC maybe eight years ago. You can see it on my truck in the avatar photo or in my old posts. I had the truck painted last year. My bodyman liked the hood. Not much work to make it fit also no dent's to speek of.
