A New teenage member!
Hey guys! My name is Wyatt. I'm 16 and I have had this truck for about 8 years and I've been working on the truck (more like tinkering) for about the past three years or so. I have been buying and selling parts along with asking plenty of questions on my dad's profile, but I just got around to making mine. The truck has been in and out of my family for 30 yeas or so. My dad, uncle and ending with my grandmother have all had a turn or two with the truck. When I first got the truck the interior was in pretty bad shape (seat, door panels, seatbelts, dashpad, gauge cluster, and column) and the heater box and lines were FULL of leaves. After tons of work I have gotten her to the point she is at today. I drive her to school every day and have never has a problem with it. Here is a list of things I have done so far! I just purchased a 72 Cheyenne a few months ago for its deep dish rally wheels and sway bar and a few other parts and sold the truck. I also bought a 67 with my brother and he purchased it from me, but that's a whole other story! I have done almost everything to my truck for the most part with my own money along with help from mom and dad here is some of the things I have done!
- New grill bowtie - Repainted black around headlight bezels - New headlight bezels - Repainted air cleaner - Deep dish rally wheels of another 1972 chevy truck - New BF Goodrich radial R/A's - New door handles - Renuilt steering column - New steering wheel - Tach cluster - New to me sun visors - New solid rear window - New rear sport bumper - Exhaust - Original AM radio converted to AM/FM by Gary tayman. It's AWSOME!! - Hitch - Bigger and original rear view mirror - Dome light - 3 Point GM seat belts - Original black door panels - New to me original armrests - Front sway bar - Headlights - Undercoated the underneath side of the can and bed - Power-washed the front suspension and repainted the suspension - Courtesy lights - Glove box light - Glove box liner I've got to say that this site is the best!! I've been on my dad's profile looking on the site since 2007 but just now got around to making my own. The guys on the site here are great!! I'm sure I will have a few question and hopefully I will start selling parts here soon on my own profile instead of my dads. I'm sure there are a few things In my list that are missing but for the most part that's it. I know you guys LOVE pictures so I will do my best to post pics of all the little stuff I do and then some Most of the things that I wanted to do the truck I have already done, but there are still a few things I'd like to do. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!!

What a beautiful truck, great history, and inspiring story! I drove my truck to high school also but I didn't have your experience with fixing things on it.
Welcome aboard! |

Re: A New teenage member!
Thanks! I have learned just about everything I know about these trucks from my dad. When we rebuilt our 1969 c10 I learned where every nut and bolt went and it was a great learning experience for sure.

Re: A New teenage member!
Welcom to the best site around! I WISH I had any one of the vehicles my dad had when he was young. I would take that truck any day over any stupid new car in the parking lot at your school. Looks like your taking fine care of that beauity. Keep it up man, guys like you give me hope for the future. Iphones and instagram aren't anywhere as cool as classic chevys but most young dudes would rather tweet than wrench.
