front disc conversion help...

I have ECE power disc front brake conversion, I love it

A friend owns a 1977 c10 , would this same kit be useable on their c10??

If not what is the best option for a power disc front brake conversion kit for a 1977 c10
Doesn't have to have lowering components, I believe its staying stock height

Also looking for a power steering kit for the 77 c10 as well.

Female friend bought the truck and I'm trying to make it easier for her to daily drive it.

1977 comes standard with disc brakes

Like tony58 said,... the 71-and later trucks come stock with front disc brakes,... however your '77 may not have POWER disc brakes.
I would check your local auto parts store for a factory style brake booster to add to your truck.
This will make braking effort much easier.

Hmmm, thanks for the info, wonder if maybe they are just worn and non power maybe??

Maybe that's the cause of them not working well?

I will make a trip to her house and check the truck out in person to get the low down, I know it doesn't have power steering so that for sure I will need to swap in either a kit or by some means.

The truck being disc stock is a plus though , should be an easier starting point to upgrade them.

Any suggestions on particular rotors or a power booster from any certain company?
Mine is ECE but they don't cover that year truck so not sure what good options are

Nice, glad to hear the brakes will be easier than I thought.

I know she mentioned the clutch is very difficult with the 3 speed manual on the column, is there anything to make the clutch easier to engage /disengage?

Or is that just how they are , and best to swap in an auto and run it through the factory column?

I'm unsure on the rear axle ratio, but a 700r4 might make it more freeway friendly anyways and more enjoyable to daily drive for her

Sure you could do a 700R4 swap but you will need to change out the column to an auto as well.
As far as power brakes, steering and the auto column go you should hit the local craigslist and see if anyone local is selling parts or parting one out because you can get the parts cheaper, they made millions of these trucks from 73-87 so good used parts will be pretty easy to find.

Xeen, I forgot which company but someone makes a linkage piece I was able to use in order to make my
700r4 work with my factory column on my 69 c10, yes there is no indicator but it seems to function ok.
