Speedo Grommet

How do I get my new speedo grommet on my new cable?
How about the Emergency cable grommet?

So far i just cut a slit in my oil pressure line grommet but that didn't work too well.

Re: Speedo Grommet

I ended up cutting a slit in my old speedo grommet and reusing it. Haven't had to deal with E cable or oil line grommet yet.

Re: Speedo Grommet

Our grommets are designed so that you can cut them and install them with hardly a trace to show you did. The original grommet has a steel clip molded into it to affix it to your firewall. Once you cut that clip it can no longer hold onto the firewall very well and looks like crap once reinstalled. My grommets seal completely around the hole in the firewall without a metal clip. So when you cut it for the speedometer cable it can still be installed and if you are careful enough you won't even see the cut. You don't even have to cut our oil pressure line grommet, because it is flexible enough to just push the oil pressure line right through it with the fitting on the end. WES

The E brake cable and grommet for my 1968 Restoration, I had Inline tube make a new cable for me and I sent a Grommet for them to put on as they manufactured the E Brake Cable.

Re: Speedo Grommet

Great idea for the e-brake cable. Too bad they don't make speedometer cables. WES
