Automatic to Manual?

Hey, new to the forum here. Sorry if the question has already been asked but I did not see it on any threads. My question is "Is it hard to do a conversion from automatic to manual, and can someone give me a ballpark estimate?"

Re: Automatic to Manual?

More info needed!!
What motor?
What tranny now?
What rear gears now?
Which manual tranny do you want?
What's your budget?
Are you swapping it yourself or paying someone to do it?

Re: Automatic to Manual?

Well Geezer, to be honest with you I didn't even think about all of that. This is my first project I have ever owned and never really worked on an engine so forgive my ignorance. Its a 350 motor with a th350 transmission. The gears are 3.73, and I plan to do it myself. Also I don't plan on doing this anytime soon but, I would like to once I learn more about the truck and how to work on it, thanks.

Re: Automatic to Manual?

Good to have future plans! Keeps the brain working!!
For now, learn and do everything you can to your truck. Get it running tip top and then think about mods later down the road.
Fix the safety stuff first.
Brakes, steering, suspension etc.
Do the body and paint last after all the thrashing!
Best of luck!!
You got pics of your truck?

Re: Automatic to Manual?

This is the only rust besides a few small spots in the bed, nothing too bad.

Re: Automatic to Manual?

Ill get some pictures of it when me girlfriend gets home, shes got my camera at the moment. From what I could tell the engine seemed to be in good mechanical order, its a BF GoodWrench Crate engine. He said it had only been in for 3 years. From the looks of it id say it could very well be true.
