rear drive shaft question

I am ready to do the drive shaft for my 51 3100, has a 78 Trans Am 10 bolt, 700r4 trans. What I need to know is what is a good starting point for a rear drive shaft?

Re: rear drive shaft question

most any junkyard drive shaft that is long enough and fits both ends
then have it shortened

most any 70s and up gm drive shaft will fit from any trans
i used my stock 58 when i went from stock to th350 with stock rearend
then again when i went to 700r4 with 86 trans am rearend
had to shorten it because of the extra length on the 700r4
