Project LAIDyer Cake 82 single dually
im horrible at trying to make a build thread so, here it goes
Picked up this truck in South West florida, about 3 hours from Miami so i drove over there and drove it back, its a 454 with a manual trans, not sure what trans and is some one could tell me it would be great the gears are "L-1-2-3-OD-R" my plans are to have this as tow/ junk yard parts runner and to look good while at it. Here are some pics of when i got it So the first thing i had to do was lower it, couldn't deal with how high it was sitting so the lowering started, i went with a western chassis flip kit and made my own notch and on the front i got some 73 caprice big block springs and cut a coil and it dropped the truck about 4-5" Then the bed came off so i could make the the notch and a few other modifications so after taking a few measurements and some fabrication i built this notches here they are welded and painted Once that was done i started the hidden hitch didn’t take any pics of how i made it but if some one can’t figure it out ill explain Around this time i also came across this bevy duty bumper at the junk yard Then i moved on to the helper bags for when i tow, i bought one of them universal leaf spring bag mounts and i made my own upper bag mounts to be continued…

Re: Project LAIDyer Cake 82 single dually
so after i got the notch and bags done i came across a craigslist ad for a set of 19.5 in orlando fl, after some wheeling and dealing i sent a friend of mine who lives in orlando and picked them up for me, after a few weeks me and the ol lady went up and picked them up. i still needed 2 tires and 2 inner rims so i found some steel rims locally and got everything mounted up and balanced
After that i moved on to the interior, this is wat i started with, after some sweeping and vacuuming i brushed some rusty metal primer / sealer and after it all dried i brushed some bed linner and finished it with some insulation. Then i switched my stock steering wheel for a 63 impala wheel After that i moved to making some new higher inner wheel well, there based on the original wheel wells then i repaired the rotted cab corner now on to the bed then some paint buckskin tan then i moved over to the cab Found a painted bumper at the junk yard and i stripped it and painted it white and this is where im at now
