Re: Way cool CL find

It does say "best offer" - so who knows how many B. Franklins it would take to buy it.

Best money spent is always on a solid start IMO. If someone is looking for that type truck that one is a fine beginning

Re: Way cool CL find

Well, if the question is can one be found in that condition cheaper. The answer is yes. $1000 for all the sheet metal or $2400 complete. Not a '46 but a '47. The '46 would be harder to find but not $7600 harder. And yes, it did come with a clear title.

Re: Way cool CL find

Looks like a solid truck but after you put 10 more grand into restoration.....you have a 15k truck at most. Big trucks have a limited market and do not bring big money unless they are a custom build. Tires alone for that are over 1500 bucks. Not saying I wouldnt love to have it but the price is probably double what its worth.

Rob
Apples and Oranges.....I have NEVER seen a 46 lcf or COE in person. I have seen them restored and "not for sale" online.
I have seen several 47-54's and although tough to find, are way more common than a 41-/42 or 46. I am not sure they even produced them in 41/42 before the War. I have heard that they started production during the War for Government use only and that the civilian 46's were actually left over inventory that was slated for the War effort, but sold when the War ended suddenly.

Re: Way cool CL find

I'm not sure what year they where first produced but I know it was '38 or before. Are they common? by no means. Are they cool? Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If you Google Chevy COE you will see loads of them. Oh and Buggy... if yours is for sale at 15K I can have you cash in 24 hours. No, I'm not kidding.

Re: Way cool CL find

Buggy just makes a side comment on the price, amount to build, and value of a big truck and he gets 3 inquires! He makes no comment about it being for sale!

Buggy-I hope this is a small indication of how respected your build was...I can just imagine the comments questions you get about it in real life!
