Re: 73-74 reproduction grill??

The grille cannot be reproduced due to legalities.... Only source is GM and it's probably been discontinued.

Joe, I can't recall his name, but he has since changed it and ceased production on it from what I remember, and maybe even quit selling all together.

Re: 73-74 reproduction grill??

Thanks guys

I knew there would be copyright infringement issues using the bowtie....
Maybe they could just make them without the bowtie but a flat place to put one.

I saw a couple 73-74 chevy grills and one 73-74 GMC grill at my local pull a part....wish I would have grabbed them

Even the flat place for the bowtie, cannot resemble a bowtie. It has to be all webbing like the rest of the grille. Or rights have to be purchased and royalties paid.

Why is it that I can find about a bazzillion repro parts with Chevy logos at places like LMC but no grille? Even ridiculous stuff like nuts and bolts with a bow tie on them...

What about this icon for example? > < Does this website pay royalites to use it?

Re: 73-74 reproduction grill??

Not too dead at all. I finally got mine mocked up and ready for install this weekend. Now all I need is the 350 emblem to set it off...

Re: 73-74 reproduction grill??

Back from the dead......

So, it's been a few years, for anyone that purchased one of the reproduction grills, how are they holding up? The old Stull tube grill in the Heap got away from me and rusted over the winter, replaced it with a driver quality 73-74 grill. I'd like to switch to a new repro 73-74 if they are holding up.

Thanks!

Re: 73-74 reproduction grill??

I bought one and I can't lie but I actually like the quality better from the one I'm replacing. It's obvious to me that they used a higher quality coating on the old school stuff. But it's new so I won't complain to much...
