Need suggestions on a chrome shop

Getting ready to start redoing the interior in my blazer and want the rear interior panel strips and carpet strips rechromed. Anyone have suggestions on a shop?

Glad I stumbled onto your post, I live in WVC. How is their pricing structure?

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

Thanks for the link I'll give them a shout. I know I'll have to send my strips out for rechroming. Western North Dakota doesn't have anything like a chrome shop, or a powder coating shop, or a restore shop, and I could go on and on and on lol

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

also check to see the price of new repops /// many times you can get repops for a fraction of what it costs to have the originals rechromed

I echo Cdowns thought. Almost all the pieces I am planning on reconditioning cost less through our vendors. Especially seeing as it sounds like you may have to ship the items to the location, Id be surprised if your costs still were less then buying repops.

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

I used a company called Precision Plating in Quincy IL. Great quality on all parts , just make sure you have cash . I had them re-plate everything on my 55 11 years ago when I went to pick up my parts they told me they didn't accept credit cards , let me take my parts and mail them a check for over 2 thousand dollars , great people to deal with

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

X2 on ElectroPlating of El paso. I used them twice for various non-reproduced items on my build. I cant say one bad thing about them, prices were good and chrome was show quality. It took a little longer than i expected, but i was in no real hurry.

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

Followed the link to the El Paso, Tex crome shop. Very interesting, having some thoughts on where to have my front and rear bumper re-chromed for '71Chevelle SS project. Last swap meet I was at I was quoted $550 per bumper, ouch ! Used to have several chrome shops locally but guess the EPA pretty well shut them down with regulations. May have to give Electroplating a call.

Do not use Advanced Plating that you see all the time on TV...

Re: Need suggestions on a chrome shop

Ogden Chrome has 3 different tiers of pricing based on what your needs are. Contact them as far as cost, I have not chromed anything recently. They are not cheap but everything I've seen come out of there is beautiful, that's why they are still in business when so many of the other shops have closed.
