Windshield frame rust fix? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So my cab I'm using in my build is fairly rusty around the top lip that holds the windshield. So I have a couple questions..

1- do they make a patch pannel to replace the outer windshield frame, or atleast the top?

2- will a k5 frame work if I were to find one and hack it up?

Just the lip where the spot welds are needs to be replaced... She's pretty Knarly looking.

Patch from brothers truck for $110. I need this done on my truck as well, mine is rusted all along the windshield on the inside, hasn't gotten to the pillars yet though.

I need to stop the rain from getting in there from the outside, by the drip rails. I suggest you check that on yours as well.

How much of a build are you doing? Mine was rusted there as well, I found an almost perfect cab and paid only 400 for it. It was a no brainer because I was doing a total repaint.

my inner cab roof looks great its just the outside lip behind the windshield... ill try to get a picture... im doing a complete frame off resto.. id hate to get an all new cab. simply because my dad and i spent alot of hours on this cab together and he is no longer here... looking like ill have to spend some time with some sheet metal and my mig.

I totally get that, it can be repaired and if you have the time it fairly inexpensive.
