Door Panels

I have been waiting on Black Door Panels from LMC for a 2 months now, were on back order. Finally canceled the order and am looking for a good set of after market ones that aren't too pricy, what company sells a good set? Thanks!

Re: Door Panels

Have you checked classicparts.com ?
I don't have personal experience with their door panels but the other stuff I've bought from them has been good.

Re: Door Panels

My buddy put a set on his truck and he isn't happy with the quality of the LMC ones. I would look for a set of oem and dye them.

Re: Door Panels

Wow glad I cancelled the order, I have a set of OEM Dark Blue Door panels in the garage. Any tips on how to dye them black, how to prep, etc? Thanks!

Re: Door Panels

Some degreaser and scrub them .
Adhesion promoter and spray your dye .
Just scrub them very good to make sure you have the years of armor all gone

Re: Door Panels

Just use a rag and degreaser and scrub? Any specific brand you would recommend for the Dye? Thank you very much!

Re: Door Panels

I bought door panels from Classic Industries a few years back...they were the "coverlay" brand. They said they wouldn't be an exact color match, but they look good enough, and are holding up well after a few years.

Re: Door Panels

I'll be making a trip to source a LOT of OEM interior truck parts this weekend so I'll keep an eye out for nice panels and post what I find.

Re: Door Panels

I am also looking for a medium blue set for a 79 Silverado with power windows and door locks. I could also use a same color OEM vinyl seat cover.

Re: Door Panels

I'll have a list of "look for" parts and among them is a couple tach clusters I know are there, LOTS of suburban interior parts, 16.5" factory derby style hubcaps, etc. stuff like that.

Re: Door Panels

I see you're in Houston also. You might want to stop by a place called Outback Truck Parts in Spring, Tx

They have alot of new and used classic truck parts for chevy trucks.

Re: Door Panels

After you remove the arm rest and cloth insert (on upper trim model) you are left with a plastic panel. No need to die anything. Prep and paint as you would any large piece of plastic.

Re: Door Panels

I painted mine. I don't believe the door panels are OEM, probably aftermarket. It's what was on the truck when I bought it.
