Re: Aftermarket radiators

I have been wondering that too. I will need a new radiator. Before it gets warm again. I have read on here recently several times that the Champion brand radiators are stripping out the transmission cooler fittings when you try to tighten the transmission lines down. That may be one to avoid.

Re: Aftermarket radiators

I got a direct replacement Spectra brand at Autozone. First one leaked at the seams in 2 months, second one has been in for a year and a half with no issues. Lifetime warranty, and they did back it up. Mine has metal tanks, but I see the new ones now have plastic.

I'd look elsewhere if I had to do it again.

Re: Aftermarket radiators

Paid $200 for a copper/brass one at O'Riellys. It's a 4 row and works well.I had a 2 row ,so had to change mounts and cushions but the upgrade was worth it to me.

Re: Aftermarket radiators

I just put one in my 65 that I got through Rock Auto. Part # CU284 (Spectra Premium)

I paid $170 (not sure if I paid shipping or not) it was at my house in 2 days, fit absolutely PERFECT, including the auto trans lines, and the best part is that it is made in Canada, not China.
