"I like your Bronco"

Anyone else ever hear that when driving your Blazer or Jimmy around? Do Bronco owners hear "I like your Blazer"?

Re: "I like your Bronco"

I have coworkers that do it on purpose because they know how much it offends me. And I like when people say that to me and then they seem offended when I correct them.

Re: "I like your Bronco"

LOL, I used to get that all the time mainly from older people. It got to the point where I would just go along with it. I felt bad having to correct them after they complimented my truck so I would just leave it alone.

Re: "I like your Bronco"

Yeah, even my best friend (who's a car guy) will occasionally ask me how my "Bronco" is coming along.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard "What year is your Bronco?" I'd probably be finished with my build by now.

Can't remember what member it is, but someone here has a sig. that goes something like:

"Every time someone calls your Blazer a Bronco, a kitten somewhere in the world dies." :-)

Re: "I like your Bronco"

Some funny responses. But really, people here are diehard truck and car people, not everyone is like us. If someone takes a second to say they like whatever it is I'm driving, but screw up the make, model, year (whatever) I'm always polite and say thanks and correct them in a nice or funny way so as not to make them feel stupid and sorry they even said anything.

Always when I'm gassing up too. Clean Bronco, man! Makes me cringe. I love the kitten signature. I might have to borrow that one.

Re: "I like your Bronco"

Great thread...and it does suck. I don't mind it at work when people are in that I haven't seen in a while and they are legitimately being nice when they ask you how your Bronco is coming. It's impressive that they remembered...but since it's party season, and I've had this happen a couple of times...someone that you're talking to turns to introduce you to someone and says, "Hey, this is Brad, he's working on a Bronco." Multiple problems here: 1. I'm a horrible person that only talks about my Blazer all the time 2. I've done it in such a boring and inarticulate way that they've stopped listening and need to bring in a third to help shoulder the load 3. Now I have to decide if I'm just gonna go full A-hole and correct them immediately and plow right into the new guy about how lucky I was to find a nice original exhaust hanger...Usual solution: excuse myself to the corner and surf this site on my phone.

The one I get most often is "How did you cut the top off?"

I had an 87 Blazer, white and people were always calling me OJ, telling me I was driving OJ's Bronco.

I have a Blazer and a Bronco! It's really confusing when someone comments because it takes me a minute to figure out which one they are really talking about............

Re: "I like your Bronco"

Funny stories here - glad to see I'm far from alone on this. I've been told this since I got my first K5 (a 71 Blazer) in 1995. I typically just play along and not correct the commentator. Bronco, scout....has anyone ever been told "Nice trail duster"?

Re: "I like your Bronco"

As a guy who frequently gets called by my brothers name (God knows why parents to choose to name their kids with names that sound alike), and having my brother own a Bronco, it doesn't really bother me.

But it can be fun to play along, and act stupid.

Re: "I like your Bronco"

All the time! It doesn't hgelp that I have an Eagle Venture fiberglass hood that looks just like an earlt Bronco hood. I think the word "Bronco" is kind of like "Kleenex". Any full size two door SUV is refered to as a "Bronco" by people that don't know better, like any old tissue is referred to as a "Kleenex". I always politely make the correction, making sure to point to the "K5 Blazer" emblem on the fender in hopes of educating at least one more person out there.

And if you think you'll get any consistency of your truck being correctly called a Jimmy, you're dreaming.

Re: "I like your Bronco"

I've heard it at least twice in the almost year since I've had my Jimmy lol. It doesn't have any emblems on it, so it's double tough for those not in the know, I suppose.

The other day, though, I thought about putting some Cadillac emblems on it and telling them it's a 1st Gen Escalade!

Don't do that unless you want to lose faith in this latest generation. Lol
