I have a 77 C10 shortbed and I am installing a 5.3 from a 2008 Yukon Denali. I bought the truck for $400 without an engine.[IMG][/IMG]

Re: 7708

I started with simple ideas for my build. Wanted to keep the Patina look with a real slick inside. Wanted to go with the bucket seats and console from the Yukon. [IMG][/IMG]

Re: 7708

Later I decided that I wanted to put the shift in the floor. Searching different options, I came up with a console from a 2008 Buick Enclave. I didn't want to the aftermarket look of a B&M shifter. The Yukon seats sat high in the cab, so I had to cut the mounting brackets off the seats and modify the floors to get the fit I wanted.

Also I did the suspension, replaced all the bushings, ball joints, tie rods and mounts. Cleaned all the parts and painted. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Re: 7708

Later I wanted to use the factory speedometer from the Yukon, knowing some modifications and fiberglass work would have to be done. I was never a fan of the 77's factory speedometer. I am a true fan of older cars with modern features. So the idea of installing the entire dash from the Yukon hit me. After doing some measuring and more measuring, I went for it. I also have a 63 Impala with an LS drive train.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Re: 7708

I explored many options with fuel delivery. I think I will try what was done on my 63 tank. I took the stock tank from the 08 Yukon and cut the mounting ring out and burned the plastic off it.The pump is perfect height, going this route gives me the baffle and exact fuel pressure. What I plan to do is, cut a circle large enough to fit the ring and weld it in. If needed, apply some type of epoxy sealant. I will post more pictures as I progress.

Re: 7708

I'm real big on classic rides with modern features. I love the wow factor when people look at it and see the custom work.
