Hi guys, can anyone tell me what years were the fleetside cast aluminum step inserts used? Any pictures? Do you think it adds or takes away from the looks of the fleetsides? Thanks Mike.

Any year you want. They were sold as GM accessories (starting pre-67) , but also sold elsewhere. I put one in my '69 Power Wagon bedside. I bought it from Dick Cepek. I think they look cool as well as being very useful. Many hate anything cut into the sheet metal. But that's up to you

Just my opinion but I think they take away from the overall looks of a truck. Sorry special K

Cutting the HOLE is the hard part SpecialK. It almost killed me to drill a hole in the top of my dash to mount a clock. After I recovered from that I cut a monster HOLE in the front of my dash for the ac center vent. I had to be admitted for a while after that one!
