Re: Junkyard Carrier Bearing???

Many, many years ago, I had that "Heavy Duty" bracket & carrier on a '70 GMC 1/2 ton.
The bracket broke at both those places near where it's riveted to the cross member.
I couldn't find that style bracket in the junk yards, and never thought about having it welded. I ended up finding the other style bracket and converted to the "hanging donut" type carrier.
I wish this website and the wealth of information here was available way back then.
