I had a carbureted S10 Blazer 2.8. I got a Firebird donor with a fuel injected 3.1 and adapted the harness to it. It was actually pretty easy. Anything is possible. If I was in your position, I can easily find an '80s harness in the junkyards around here and would probably update all electrical to the year of the harness I use. In particular the controls on the blinker switch are much more user friendly than on the dash and floor.
