custom bench seats

hi guys I have a quick question. I saw the teas design for replacement bench seats. I like the way they look but not the price tag. I talked to my upholstery guy and he said we can add foam to build bolsters in the seats. I was just curious as to if any one has done this and if you have any pics. I have to do both front and rear seats in my burbon. just looking for ideas don't really want a flat bench seat. thanks

Re: custom bench seats

I had my upholstery guy build out bolsters for the bench in Cannonball C10. It could have turned out bad, but fortunately I really like the outcome.

mikentosh, I like that. How much did it cost? Where? I have a seat with good foam already, so it shouldn't need much repair.

Looks nice but wouldn't you rather have buckets if you were gonna eliminate the option for a passenger in the center?

Re: custom bench seats

You could squeeze a passenger in there if you had to.

I got it done by Tony at Valencia Upholstery in downtown San Jose. He charged $650 which included refreshing the frame and patching up any loose foam. Since doing mine, he's done a couple of more the same way for customers who saw mine in progress.

The bench fits the style of build that I'm doing, and I'm hoping to still use the center for a passenger if needed. I've almost given up the idea of running three wide with my daughter in her car seat though.

Re: custom bench seats

Mike . I live the seat idea. I ran across this searching for bench I ideas. I want buckets because I plan on doing some autocross in my truck and don't wanna slide all over the interior. I told my wife I wanted buckets and she was sad to know that only 2 people could ride in the truck.
