Needing a new radiator

Surprised the old/original one lasted this long.

Just got back from the rad shop. The assessment seems to be they did what they could, but if I look at it wrong, it may fall to pieces.

I should be good enough for me to be able to get the engine running, but it's time for me to start looking for a replacement.

I don't want to buy new now (unless necessary) as the truck likely won't be on the road for a few years.

Anyone have any suggestions on options? Do any places sell rebuild rads, or is my only option to buy a new one?

if the truck is not hitting the road , then why get one right now until you are ready for a new one?? and the Radiator shop should be able to order one.

personally I would just order a new one and a heavier duty one and leave it in a parts pile until needed unless you are going with a custom idea??
I got mine from LMC upgraded to a 4 row and have not had any issues with it for the last 5 years, I know LMC Ouch, but it worked out

I'm just planning ahead in case I hook up the rad this weekend and it looks like a yard sprinkler.

And I'd prefer not to drop $300 bucks right now unless I have to. Just figured there might be a place that sold refurbed units that I could try.

From whom?

Everywhere I've looked they were around $300.

The new replacement radiators for ~$300 and less all use plastic side caps and aluminum cores now.

Not meaning to hi-jack this thread, I thought the question might help more people than just me. Anyone have any experience with this KKS unit? I've never heard of the brand, it appears to be a Chinese knock-off. The price is nice and is described as all aluminum.

I got mine at Autozone for about $200 and it doesn't have plastic tanks. That was about a year and half ago now.

There are a ton of rads out there, and a few good ones too!..most of the aluminum ones ebay are Chinese

Hopefully my old one will hold up until I'm willing to drop the cash on a new one.
