Nascar truck arms
So I bought a set of Nascar truck arms for my Leaf to coil swap. I am trying to find bushings for them. They measure just a tad over 2 " ID and have clamping bolts. Anyone else use them and if so what bushings did you use. Thanks for the help

Re: Nascar truck arms
You might need to talk to these guys for the right size bushings or also known as 'Johnny Joints'!

Re: Nascar truck arms
The pic with the tape does not show true measurement. It is just over 2" inside and I will have to get better measurements tonight and post better pics and drawings of the inside

Re: Nascar truck arms
The set I ordered last year came with spherical bearings slip fit inside and a retaining ring groove. I kept the bearings and made some spacers to fit over the bolt and center the arm in the mounting bracket on the frame. Can't find any pics right now.
I remember reading about others shaving down the standard replacement bushings to fit in there. That could be an option. |

Freeze, have you drove it with the mono balls yet ? Just wondering about the upkeep and if you have had any problems with them banging

Re: Nascar truck arms
Yes they are Nascar trailing arms that match the trailing arms on the 67-72 Chevrolet trucks, stronger and less expensive than the stock or aftermarkets

Re: Nascar truck arms
Yes. NASCAR cars use a rear suspension that is much like our trailing arm suspension. Provided you get the proper length people sometimes use the NASCAR ones in our trucks.

Re: Nascar truck arms
Nice! I actually have a very good friend who is a chassis engineer at Penskes NASCAR shop. If I ever wanted a pair I'm sure I could get em. But I'd still feel like they were Ford parts LOL

Re: Nascar truck arms
There is another way to think about that. If Brad or Joey wins they did it with Chevy parts that made them go fast

Re: Nascar truck arms
If they were from the 4 you'd have the fastest 67-72 around

Re: Nascar truck arms
Ok next question, Looks like I am going to make some temp bushings until I can find what I need so I can get the rearend set up before sending the frame to Powder Coat. Can someone give me the inside measurement of the CPP crossmember trailing arm mounts. I might start a new thread for this question. Thanks guys

Re: Nascar truck arms
Just out of curiosity how did you get ahold of some NASCAR trailing arms?
