LS Headers

Moved my engine back into the firewall about 3" and wanted to keep my factory clutch and brake pedals. Decided I'd try making a set of fender-well headers for my '49 GMC.

Here's the first attempt at a design using 'header legos'. This is after playing with it for about an hour. My design goal is to have a two-u joint steering shaft. Looks like some aftermarket inner fenders are in my future.

Think I'll try reversing the two middle cylinders on the collector and extending the primary tubes another foot or so so they're about 30" long. Going to try and make them all about 30" long.

Flanges are 304 stainless and I'm going to braze primaries in the flange with silicon bronze. Merge collectors are cheap ebay units. Primary is 1.75 and collector is 2.5" Will use 16 ga 304 stainless mandrel bends and try back-purging with these and see if I can cut down on some of the 'sugar' on the inside of the tubes.

Still leaving toys out.
