Re: Pedal to FLOOR, New Brake System on 58.

Glad to report that my brake problem is SOLVED. I swapped the 1" MC that came in the booster kit from POL with a 1 1/4" bore MC. Everything bled easily and I have a high, firm pedal. It's the first time I got it out on the road for a very short test drive before I finish assembling the bed. She's a beast.

Thanks for your help on the brakes guys....appreciate it!

Originally, it was a long fleetside. I cut the frame down and found a short step bed for it.

Here's the before pic:

Re: Pedal to FLOOR, New Brake System on 58.

My neighbor had a '58 GMC he was driving without the bed. Got caught in a rainstorm and someone stopped short in front of him. He said the truck swapped ends pretty quick when he jabbed the brakes and he rear ended the guy with the back of his truck. Pretty much messed up the frame geometry.

Thanks Orrie! Hope for you to see it in person sometime. Yeah, the tires are 285/75r18 Toyo MT's. I spent months trying to figure the exact size i wanted for this truck. The tire is essentially a 35 x 11.5 x 18. I like it much better than the common, wider 35 x 12.5 size. Very limited selection of brands in that size however. Got them at Les Schwab in Boise.
