Re: crank pulley clearance problems
What mounts do you have? Are they for sure BB? I think SB sets the engine down further. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Re: crank pulley clearance problems
It may just be the photo but the crossmember looks distorted or bent. It should be flat going across the rails. Those get bent very easily. That would cause the crank pully to hit.
I'm not saying it is bent but the photo makes it look that way.

Re: crank pulley clearance problems
.
Bob: That crossmember looks that way from that angle. I think his is OK. (I had to go out and check my frame to make sure)... prostreet1967: I tend to agree with 1970 CST Short Wide, my 454 is about an inch above that x-member at the front of the pulley with '72 BB motor mount towers. LockDoc

Re: crank pulley clearance problems
I've seen a few back yard swps that had that area cut. Never looked into the reason though.
67 frames are a little different than later ones, but I', thinking it was width. a short water pump might help, thats what was stock motor mounts and the stands may be to blame. |

Re: crank pulley clearance problems
I have the same issue on my 67 c10 with bbc swap. Previous owner torched clearance. Looking to replace with stock cross member to improve appearance.
