Help put a year to this bench seat
I bought this plaid bench seat to replace my shredded up original bench. The guy told me it was for a 1967-72 C10. It is a perfect fit and direct bolt-in for my 1970 C20. I need to know for sure of the year so I can order new upholstery for it. If it is a 1973 and up seat, I need to know. I was told it was a 1973-1987 seat, but I don't think so.
My best guess is it is a 1971-1972 suburban front bench seat since it tilts and the back is fully upholstered.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I'm hoping to order a smooth black vinyl cover with red piping from Truckseats on here.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Doesn't look correct to me. I would guess 73 and up judging by the fabric.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I would think the same thing too, but the 1973 and up trucks have a different floor and seat brackets. This bench has the exact same seat brackets as my original 1970 bench seat.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
could the 70 brackets been put on to a 73 seat? that was my first thought when you said it was a direct bolt in and I saw the seat. I looked like a seat in the 73-77 range to me for some reason. Jim

Not even sure what make that's out of. Better take that cover off intact and send it if you want it right...if he does such custom work

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Yeah, you maybe right. It could be a Dodge, Ford, or even International bench seat if the 1970 seat brackets were added.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
If it came out of a C-60 in 1973,74,75 ect. it would have that style seat with 67-72 seat tracks on it.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
The upholstery pattern and shape of the seat looks like an International to me. But if it fits, that's all that matters.

And wouldn't be suburban because they don't fold.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I know where a 1975 C60 is. It has buckets, but I will go and look at the floor.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
It should have the same floor as your 67-72 the C-60's even had a small back window not sure what year this changed.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I'm going to look at the '75 C60 after work tomorrow. I'll let you know if the floor is the same.
Any chance my seat is from a 1967 Chevy or even a GMC truck? Or second or third row seat from a 1967-1972 suburban?

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I love my original seat but I do want something that will lay down (forward) and have head rests.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Tim, you're 100% correct. The 1975 C60 I just looked at has the same floor as my 1970 C20. It even has the small back window.
You can see there are bolts in the floor where my seat would fit.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Then I looked at a 1975 C10 and the floors are different and the seat was not like my folder.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Finally, I looked at a 1977 C30 and it has my same seat. A slip on cover was hiding it, but it is the same other than the mounting brackets.
Now, that seat may not be original to the C30 because the truck is red, white, and blue. The interior is white with blue door panels and dash with the red seat.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
I agree it doesn't look original to the truck since it has blue door panels and a red seat. But it is the same as mine and is bolted down to the 1977's floor.

Re: Help put a year to this bench seat
Yes looks like square body to me also. Good looking low seats for 67-72's. I ran one for 5 years and then upgraded to a bench with head rests out of a 94. totally worth it.
