check this out

for those of us that have the green (not olive) interior, I grabbed a can of paint the other day from Schucks because the color looked about right for my defrost vent replacements, I think its damn close, it is Dupli-color auto spray DS FM 165 Dark Jade (M) , sku # 0 26916 121165 3 , if anyone is interested, considering the fade of the old one in the photo does that look like it?

Looks pretty close to me!

Just an FYI-

That is a Ford Color. It was available on 78-9 Ford Pickups, Vans & Thunderbirds. It may have come on others and in other years but not 100% sure.

The color is called "Dark Jade Metalic Green". Judging by the cap, you bought the little can. It is also available in spray form in the larger "truck" touch up paint cans from Duplicolor(same size as a normal rattlecan). If you would like, I can get the paint code for it tommorrow from my dad's 78' Ford "Freewheeling" Van incase someone wants it in quarts for spraying.

Good Find!
Joe

man thanks, I have been having a hell of a time trying to find that colour, I wanna redo the paint on my dash and kick panels, and that will look awsome, now if only after market interior panels were avaliable for our trucks

I'm converting my non AC cab to factory style AC. I've been noticing trucks with the side vents painted the same color as the interior of the truck.

The side vents I have are black. I would like to spray them the color of my truck.

My question is:
What prep work do I need to do to spray plastic parts with automotive paint? veltex what did you do to those plastic vents before you sprayed them?

my defrost vents were new, slipped out of the plastic and spray, whala. I could use some plastic prep tips also for my ac ball housings, how do you clean them without melting them?

Check out Eastwood. They have a plastic cleaner and prep products for hard plastic.
